My boyfriend's sister brought some chili powder (salsa en polvo) from Hermosillo the last time she visited. Here is a picture of what the bottle looks like (see above).
I have found a similar version at our local supermarket, Food City, I don't remember the brand but you can find it in the produce section and it is called "Pico de Gallo."
It is very good on fruit, especially mangoes and apples.
It also works well on cucumbers with some lime juice. For a snack today I cut up an extra large delicious apple and sprinkled on the chili powder, quite liberally. I like to drink chamomile tea with this snack, it warms the tummy. Enjoy...
