Popsicles and other frozen treats

Popsicles from the NY times article (below)

It's that time of year where we start to think about frozen treats. I was thinking about them today after reading an article in nytimes.com:

Urban Cookies on 7th Street is now making an ice cream sandwich, they set you back $4.99. I haven't tried them yet but I intend to, soon!

A few years ago I made my own ice cream sandwiches with homemade chocolate chip cookies with pecans with vanilla ice cream inside. They turned out really good.

In the meantime, until I get inspired again, I will buy popsicles at Food City. Helados Mexico makes fruit popsicles that are really tasty. I have tried these versions: fresa, piƱa, mango, horchata and jamaica. They also make one with cucumbers and chile that I want to try this summer.

La Reyna Michoacana on 32nd St. just north of McDowell sells many different flavors of fruit popsicles and also one called Eskimo which I believe has vanilla ice cream inside and chocolate on the outside.

Yummy...
